The legacy media call the CDU a 'centrist' party, but in the US it would be somewhat to the right of Comrade Bernie Sanders and his fellow travelers. Merkel's blunder, to follow the Open Society playbook, and open German borders to men who do not share our values, and openly denigrate, assault and rape women, has meant the girls and women of Germany have had to close doors and windows and close themselves off from society. Merkel let her own people down.

Some mistakenly excuse the brutality of the invaders with the glib explanation, "They are looking for their own Aisha." Aisha, peace be upon her, was married at 6 or 7, and the marriage was consummated three years later. Be thankful that in this world, we are not generally defined by the worst thing we have done, but by our good deeds. The followers of the man who liked to wear green have done much good throughout the centuries. Their accomplishments in astronomy, mathematics and medicine are still astounding. The charitable deeds of his best followers would put any Jew or Christian to shame. The criminal conduct of depraved and emotionally immature men should not color how we feel about their co-religionists.

I have enjoyed cordial and informative discussions with well-educated adherents of most of the world's major religions. I am gratified that on the essential questions of ethics and how living a good life is defined, there is significant agreement. How could it be otherwise? Aren't all of us created in the Image and Likeness of G-d?
