I Hope You Like BOTH Freezing AND Broiling
And let's not forget who's responsible for this either: The so-called "Inflation Reduction Act" which every single person in Congress should be personally held responsible for, including their entire genetic line.
The EPA is about to issue a monster rule that essentially requires the capture of all CO2 emitted by power plants. This is impossible to do at any economically-reasonable cost. It will force up power prices dramatically and likely force offline many natural gas power plants, along with all the remaining coal-fired ones.
This in turn will make your "much loved" electric car much more expensive to fuel since of course you have to plug it in, destroying any alleged "advantage" it has in operating cost (which I've gone over before, and is a lie to begin with.)
This comes after the EPA attempted to issue such a rule in the past and the Supreme Court ruled that CO2 was not a pollutant and thus outside the EPA's remit, as the Congress had not granted it the power to do this. The Inflation Reduction Act specifically included the power for the EPA to do this, which is why every single sitting Congressperson and their family deserves to be held personally responsible for every bit of economic harm this will bring to both families and businesses -- and it will not be small.
You may not like the fact that behind every unit of GDP (that is, economic output) there is a unit of energy. I'd prefer it not to be that way too but it is that way and there's nothing you or I can do about that. Our decision is whether or not we wish to have an economy that works for the people who live here or whether we'd like to enhance child slavery in the Congo and, ultimately wind up with a lithium supply problem too because the more we allegedly "rely" on lithium-chemistry batteries in any respect the more of this we promote.
Nations are in fact forming effective cartels to control lithium supply -- there was news on this just last week which was, predictably, buried and not well-reported. The Congo is the source for cobalt without which lithium batteries cannot be made -- and virtutally all of it is mined by enslaved children forced to work for about a dollar a day in order to eat.
This, fellow Americans, is what you signed up for when you started screaming about CO2 and "global warming" (now renamed "climate change" because its not in fact warming, and in fact every bit of climate screaming that the crazies have done since the 1970s has proved over time to be false.) Rather than force the insane out of office you've coddled and even cheered them on.
Well, so be it.
